Collaboration
My experience this semester with working with peers in groups and on projects was surely brilliant. The idea of having your classmates reading and helping you in revising you work was amazing due to the helpful feedbacks from the different perspectives that you get. We do not realize our mistakes in writing unless we read it at laud or we make someone read it for us; therefore, I think the idea of peer reviewing is really smart and useful. This aspect of learning helped me interact more with the people around me and express my thoughts. As a result it helped me get out of my comfort zone because I was not the only one receiving help from my classmates but also I was able to help them in revising their work too and give them my opinion from my perspectives .
Also, this semester I had the pleasure of working in a group with three other people in the “commas” grammar presentation. My group and I had a wonderful experience with this project because that was our first time presenting in college so we worked together really hard as a team to get the best results. I remember how excited we were when we did the PowerPoint, created the story, came up with the activity, and last but not my group and I deciding to dress up formally for the occasion.
Given the cultural and linguistic differences among my peers did not affect us negatively we were still able to collaborate effectively. In fact cultural and linguistic differences are necessary to produce and exchange new ideas and thoughts. I usually enjoy learning about new cultures and enjoy telling people about my own culture as a result I think this aspect bring people together.
